After 23 years and over 175,000 copies sold worldwide, KaleidaGraph still contains the best functionality for the price
Twenty-three years ago a group of engineers from the Pennsylvania area realized that their special graphing needs were often overlooked by software vendors. After having recently created a software program called VersaTerm, a terminal emulation and communications program for the Macintosh, these engineers decided to create a new software program that would enhance the raw data that was coming from the mainframe via VersaTerm.
KaleidaGraph was designed as a type of mathematical worksheet... work performed on a mainframe or on a Macintosh could be enhanced by KaleidaGraph... it quickly produced clean, accurate presentation graphics with the ease of the Macintosh. Raw data could be edited, transformed, then plotted and analyzed, all with KaleidaGraph.
In 1996, after many successful years in the Macintosh marketplace, a version of KaleidaGraph for Windows was launched. It was designed so that the Windows operating system versions can fully interchange data with the Macintosh versions.
Over the years, KaleidaGraph has won various awards including:
- Winner of the MacWorld Magazine World Class Award for Best Scientific Analysis.
- Awarded the four-mouse rating by MacUser Magazine
- Chosen as the most attractive graphing application for under $300 in Desktop Engineering's Report on Windows Graphing Programs.
We worked on our scrapbooks a bit this year and looked back at many of our earlier reviews and advertisements. We hope you enjoy these looks
back at our evolution.
Since the first copy of KaleidaGraph was sold in 1988, KaleidaGraph has remained an exceptional, easy-to-learn graphing and analysis program with a surprisingly affordable price.
